  • If you are a current IU School of Informatics graduate student OR you have applied to our program in the last two years, please contact the department directly for instructions at graduate@informatics.indiana.edu
  • We require the GRE test of all of our applicants. We have no minimum score requirement. The institution code for reporting your GRE score is 1324, and the department code is 0404.
  • If your native language is not English, you must submit results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test is required. This equates to a 250 on the computer-based test and approximately 100 on the Internet-based test. The TOEFL examination is waived if the applicant has completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in the United States. The institution code for reporting your TOEFL score is 1324, and the department code is 99. We will also accept the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) as a test of English proficiency. A minimum score of 6.5 is required.
  • Admission decisions will be made after the completion of both domestic and international application deadlines. Students will be informed of the admission committee decisions beginning the middle of March.
  • Applications received after above dates are considered for admission if the class is not full. Aid may or may not be available after the above dates.
