Deadlines
Priority dates for applying for admissions to Indiana University Bloomington are:
- August (fall): February 1
- January (spring): November 1 and September 15 for International Students
- May (summer I): April 1 and February 1 for International Students
- June (summer II): April 15 and March 1 for International Students

Advanced incoming freshman can be admitted directly to the School of Informatics when they begin their studies at IU. More
Application Process
Undergraduates who wish to be admitted to the School of Informatics must first satisfy the following requirements:
Complete 26 credit hours of course work that can count towards a degree in informatics with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C).
Complete INFO I101 Introduction to Informatics, with a minimum grade of C.
Complete the English composition requirement (ENG W131 or equivalent) with a minimum grade of C.
Complete the fundamental math skills requirement (MATH D116–117, MATH A118, MATH M118, or MATH S118) with a minimum grade of C.
Freshmen should also begin to satisfy specific degree requirements in the first year.
University Division students meeting these requirements must declare their major with their advisor to be automatically certified students are certified in January, May and September..
Students in all other schools must complete a School of Informatics Application Form before being considered for admission to the School of Informatics. To request an application form, please contact the Student Services office, room 120 in the Informatics Building.
