Research Interests

Cognitive science, philosophy of mind; computational models of conceptual fluidity, analogy-making, and creativity; mechanisms underlying discovery and creation in mathematics and geometry (especially Euclidean geometry); order and chaos in a class of recursive number-theoretical functions; the role of analogy in Physics; creativity in translation (especially from French, Italian and Russian into English); error-making as a window into mental processes, focusing on classification and theorizing about speech errors.
