Biography
Justin is a PhD student at the School of Informatics at Indiana University specializing in Human Computer Interaction and Design. His current research focus is the analysis of music as an acoustic and social phenomenon, as well as visualization and interaction techniques for complex datasets.
He also regularly works as a research intern for Strands, where he has made interactive applications for real time artist social co-occurrence network visualization, and for browsing "maps" of music recommendations. He also helps manage open source student coding projects.
He recieved his graduate degree in Human Computer Interaction from IU for his work on an interactive controller for laptop musicians. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Depauw University.
