Biography

Dr. Guha is a Research Scientist at the NIH Chemical Genomics Center and works in a variety of areas including chemical data mining of qHTS assays, RNAi screening and cheminformatics software development. A major focus of his work will the design of novel approaches to combine the results from small molecule and RNAi screens to develop new insights into various biological pathways. Prior to this he has worked on QSAR modeling applications and methodology, analysis of combinatorial libraries and computational toxicology. Dr. Guha is a proponent of Open Source software, being a founding member of the Blue Obelisk and contributor to various Open Source projects such as the CDK and R. In the area of professional service, he is the Program Chair for the ACS Division of Chemical Information (CINF) for the period 2009-2010. In addition to expanding the technical program of the Division, he has organized and chaired a number of symposia at ACS National meetings. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Cheminformatics and Chemistry Central Journal.
