Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia is an assistant research scientist at the Indiana University Network Science Institute (IUNI) and a member of the Center for Complex Network and Systems Research (CNetS). His research interests are in the emerging disciplines of network science and computational social science, with a particular focus on information diffusion on the Internet and social media.
His research has been covered in major news outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, Wired, MIT Technology Review, NPR, and CBS News, to cite a few. He holds a Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of Lugano, Switzerland and a M.Sc. (Laurea) from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
